Tourism Industry of India plays a major role in the rapid economic growth. Tourism is a travel for leisure, recreation and religious purposes and can be defined as anything. As the tourism is flourishing in India, sustainable tourism is developing in southern part of India.  It tries to make only a positive impact on the environment, society and economy. 
Kerala has been grant the top United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)  award for Sustainable tourism in Kumarakom, situated on the banks of Vembanad Kayal, west of the Kottayam District.It is one of the leading travel destinations on the planet and a crown jewel of Kerala tourism. Kumarakom is also known for its wide range of ecological balance in the environment. It is well known for Bird sanctuary, Backwater tourism hub and for its Hospitality in its natural charm. Sustainable tourism in Kumarakom is an incredible tourism development and sustaining the environment for economic growth without losing its tradition, culture and art. Traditional ayurvedic treatment is a main highlight of this place,tourists from around the world flows to Kumarakom to enjoy the earthly medicinal treatment.

Most of the people in Kumarakom depend upon Farming, domestic farming, fishing and other backwater livelihood other than that Kumarakom tourism has created number of employment opportunity to the 730 villagers and the local community has to be beneficiaries financially, socially and culturally.
The Kumarakom model has also taken initiative for eco-friendly practices of disposing of waste. Kumarakom tourism focused on Responsible tourism and it mainly concentrated on the economic, social and environmental feature of the spots. Kumarakom has a moderate climate which is balancing the tropical climate over the place. Kumarakom houseboats well known as Kettuvallamand bird sanctuary which is a core of the place where we can believe that environment is really maintained.

Kumarakom is an example for sustaining the environment for the economic use of the state without harming flora and fauna in the ecosystem and preserving its inheritance and beauty.

Media the Voice for environment

In the name of development we have encroached the forest, lakes and waterways and what not?  When too much of human activities are conducted against nature it goes in its course be that Kashmir flood, incident in Kedarnath region 2013 or tsunami, cyclones and all types of natural calamities throughout the world. Bees and wraps administration

There are about 115,000 species of bees and wraps. All these days taste and their stings brought attentions. We all know how honey is extracted. In fact, they are the best homemade remedies for health and beauty.  Ever wonder these bees and wraps have colonies, queen and duties. Honey bees have their own kingdom and queen.
