Death of Waters

Kerala is a traditionally rich and culturally beautiful state of India. The greenery and abundant variety of species marks the importance of this coastal strip. The most beautiful feature of this small state is the 44 tremendously flowing rivers. The land was blessed with the natural supply of fresh water from these rivers. But this fact seems to be ended in the state. Along with the development and industrialization which are meant to be positive factors of a countries growth, the state tends to lose whole of its natural sources along with these rivers. In a recent study by Aravind ES on ‘Various lakes in Kerala and Environmental Issues’ he explains the splendidness of the rivers which they had in the state and how the common people simply look helpless before these dying lakes and rivers.
