Amazon’s amazing hit product? Indian Farmers light fires to customer across the world with the ultimate ‘cow dung cakes’!


With the e commerce booming across the world, everything is available on Amazon. in from clothes, gifts to loved ones etc but  there is a unusual item flying off the virtual shelves remarkably say it ‘cow dung cakes’ from India. These cakes are on huge demand especially during the festival seasons sold in eight or six pieces weighing 2900g with the price ranging from 100 to 400 rupees per package offered globally from urban areas inside India and abroad asking for gift wrapping too.



It’s great that Indian farmers have turned to ebay and Amazon to sell the cow dung cakes by rushing to online retailers to sell the product made by mixing cow faeces dried in the sun. Once rural communities disconnected from the world, now offer to ship the cakes made mostly by women in India’s isolated villages, which are now available anywhere in the world. Will let this be an example for ‘Digital India’ when processed well Indian farmers too can light up fires for customers around the world by their products and skills using these online platforms?


So next time you don’t have to hunt for cow sheds searching for cow patties click of a button cow dung cake on eBay or Amazon brings dozens of results to buy from India. India the land of rituals, Hindus worship cow as sacred, dung cakes have been  used for centuries for lightening fires hawans and other Indian rituals also used as organic manure including for kitchen gardens. These dung cakes comes with attractive offers, discounts and description details like quality, color, weight, volume, total number of pieces and why it is used


Isn’t it nice to sense the ‘made in India products’ float online helping Indian farmers especially the rural village women’s to sustain and sell their products easily? This is infact a classic example to empower ‘Indian farmers’ to sell their products around the world. As we know not all the products from rural segment are easily available just like these (ex- dung cakes) so don’t you feel digital/online platforms can serve them and us better?
